GENERAL CONSTRUCTION

AS4000-1997

AS4000 General Conditions of Contract: comprises general conditions of contract suitable for a wide variety of construction and building contracts including civil, mechanical, electrical and other types of engineering contracts. AS4000 runs concurrently with the earlier AS2124.
AS4901 is the companion subcontract document specifically prepared to be compatible with AS4000.

AS2124

AS2124 General Conditions of Contract: comprises a single set of general conditions of contract suitable for a wide variety of civil engineering, building, electrical and mechanical engineering and other types of construction contracts.
The current edition of AS2124 is the 1992 revision however Standards Australia are still publishing the 1986 revision to run concurrently with the 1992 revision. The latest revision to AS2124 has been renumbered as AS4000 and is a substantial change to the style and format of the recent editions of AS2124. AS4000 is published concurrently with AS2124. These are non mandatory standards and the user is free to elect to use whichever edition they prefer, however it should be noted that the later Standards have had the benefit of adopting current rulings in the law and current practices in the industry.
AS2545 is the companion subcontract document specifically prepared to be compatible with AS2124.

AS4305-1996

AS4305 Minor Works Contract Conditions: applies to construct projects only of a simple nature. It is not suitable for projects of a complex or long term nature or where a bill of quantities has been prepared. This Standard is not meant to be used as a short form of AS2124 as certain risks and obligations are dealt with differently due to the simple nature of the projects for which these general conditions are intended.
Currently under revision and will be reissued as AS4905 as part of a suite based on AS4000. See DR99098 and DR99099.
Currently there is no specific companion subcontract document specifically prepared to be compatible with AS4305.

AS4901-1998

AS4901 Subcontract Conditions: this Standard is the companion subcontract document specifically prepared to be compatible with AS4000.

AS2545

AS2545 Subcontract Conditions: this Standard is the companion subcontract document specifically prepared to be compatible with AS2124.
Two editions of AS2545 are published concurrently by Standards Australia; AS2545-1993 is the companion document to AS2124-1992 and AS2545-1987 is the companion document to AS2124-1986.
