YEAR 2000 WARRANTY
The Contractor warrants that all plant, equipment, software, services, systems and other items used in the performance of and/or supplied under the Contract are and in the future shall be Year 2000 compliant.
Year 2000 compliance shall include the latest edition of the following:
Australian Standard SAA/SNZ MP77: 1998: A Definition of Year 2000 conformity requirements.
Rule 1. No value for current date will cause any interruption in operation.
Rule 2. Date-based functionality must behave consistently for dates prior to, during and after year 2000.
Rule 3. In all interfaces and data storage, the century in any date must be specified either explicitly or by unambiguous algorithms or inferencing rules.
Rule 4. Year 2000 must be recognised as a leap year in terms of handling both 29th February and day 366.
The full print out of the rules and the amplification of the rules as published by Standards Australia can be found on the Internet at: http://www.y2kregister.com.au/mp77/mp77.htm

Control systems software is an obvious component that must be Year 2000 compliant. However all new equipment which contains PLC's and/or microcode should be reviewed to ensure continued Year 2000 compliance.
